Faith and Reason
Faith Matters
(Im not sure about the source of this paragraph anymore)
Smith's Mormonism has failed all historical tests and in addition Smith has failed a character test Nevertheless Mormonism has prevailed and grown to a respectable 5 Million active adherents in the age of reason based on Deism and followed by Darwinism (1859).
Invalidating Book of Mormon wit Science requires that the same scrutiny is applied to the Bible.
(Im not sure about the source of this paragraph anymore)
The consequences:
Adam was not the first man, at best he was the first recorded man of God and sinner at the same time. Since DEATH was before Adam it is hard to link it to original sin.
1 Corinthians 15:22 KJV - For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive
The Old Testament can only partially be trusted as history, still much more than Smith and his Book of Mormon.
However the impact of evolutionary DEATH on the New Testament is even more severe, as it questions its Core Content, the Cross and the Resurrection.
Nevertheless I still believe in it because of its value and spiritual impact. As the Afterlife is beyond doubt in my opinion I do wish to be aligned with the forces of good and Jesus in my opinion is the best embodiment of Good and Godliness and has Christianity has plenty of spiritual and social proof that shows it to be alive. Today's Mormonism has been sanitised and moderated and exhibits many good Judaeo-Christian core principles, but its revelatory proliferation for better or worse has clearly cased.

Is Christianity a Religion ?
Modern adherants define Christianity as a relationship rather than a religion (liturgie and rituals) ? Learn more here. Quotes: "The difference between Christianity and every other faith in the world is that all other religions are about man trying to reach up to God. Christianity is about God reaching down to man.” "Religion is a system of beliefs or a code of moral conduct that judges (qualifies or disqualifies) a person based on their adherence and obedience to certain codes, rules, laws, traditions, or the performance of required acts." |

Francis Chan - Meeting the Mormons and JW's
Mormonisms foundational claims are becoming increasingly unsustainable in the information age. When all truth is known the LDS church must transform or regress. Cosmetic renovations will not be enough. Since the arrival of the internet LDS membership growth has dramatically slowed down. After loosing faith in Mormonisms exclusive claims some leave while others stay. 50 % of returned missionaries become inactive within 2 years. Yet the vast majority of LDS are not aware of the full magnitude of problems surrounding the Mormon claims to truth. This page is for those who want transformation either within the church or without. Our hope is that sis site will be useful in the transition process. The LDS church is a corporation that donates less than 1% to charity. For a better way to serve the Lord and pay tithing visit https://www.facebook.com/HeidiBakerFriends

Mormonism (2014)
We live in an exciting time. After 20 years of internet access we see the campaigns for Honesty and Transformation gather momentum in the Mormon camp. The Mormon church is transiting from denial to engagement. It will never close down, but as its foundational claims are becoming increasingly unsustainable in the information and the LDS church is now openly engaging in a sanitizing campaign on its own website under topics and publishing the Joseph Smith Papers. One of the best resources to study the current Mormon dilemma however is Mormonthink and Jeremy Runnels Open Letter to a CES director, the CesLetter. It contains a detailed debate between a defector and Mormon apologists. Caveman picture courtesy of Salamadnersociety.com
Apparently the top 15 leaders fear that if all the truth was vigorously proclaimed the LDS church would have to give up its 80 000 strong mission force and regress. Since the arrival of the internet LDS members growth statistics have dramatically slowed down. Some leave and some stay. Many informed LDS want to see more change, but others don't. Currently the vast majority of LDS is still not aware of the full magnitude of problems surrounding the Mormons foundational claims to truth. Leaders have much to loose if they should choose to defect, but why should they ? Reformation is the less painful alternative for leaders and followers.
This page is for those who seek a transformation within the church and opt for personal transition on a personal be it within the Mormon church or outside. Our hope is that this site will be useful in the transition process. The LDS church is organized as a corporation and it recruits most of its converts (85%?) from the Christian Camp. It has no interest in reaching unreached tribes in unaccessible areas. It may be worth $100 Billion, but donates less than 1% to charity. The controversial LDS church owned shopping mall in SLC (City Creek) is estimated to have cost the LDS church 1.5 Billion. For a better way to serve the Lord and pay tithes that transform the world visit Heidi Baker Friends on facebook.

Mormon Truth @ Xmormon.net - Honesty in Faith
We are pro truth, pro faith and pro science. In its attempt to figure out the mind of God, mankind's prophets have often resorted to second guessing. This is perfectly fine, but when doctrines are declared to be authentic authoritative divine revelation, then prophets and their truth must be subjected to some tests. This has created a big dilemma for the Mormon church due to its strong exposure to scientific testing and in response it has ushered in an era of doctrinal revisionism that severely undermines the claimed prophetic mantle and it has revealed a level of dishonesty employed in sanitizing the faith and exercising damage control. And here it hurts the people it tries to protect and the victims become perpetrators. More recently this dilemma has let higher ranking leaders to speak out. And there is hope. All leaders respond to public opinion one way or the other.
Science and Faith
It appears that Mormonisms religious artifacts have been scientifically disproven and hence the need to manage information. Its interesting to look at catholic miracles in Youshallbelieve , Science Tests Faith and Catalinas writings. While Catholics are very reluctant to claim miracles, Mormons make the belief in its foundational miracles mandatory for faith. And in spite of all the evidence to the contrary they assure they don't just belief, they KNOW ITS TRUE and everybody can know by the Holy Ghost and that scares me.

Christianity - is it more credible than Mormonism ?
After loosing faith in the LDS leaders its easy to become a spiritual orphan. Whom can I trust now and what will be my Credo ? Is God still real and alive ? Is there enough remaining truth to allow Christian Apologetics to offer me solid truth and a sustainable foundation for faith ? Leaving your old illusionary identity behind comes with a great sense of loss, grief and disorientation Furthermore if Mormonism can not be trusted and you have been taught that Christianity can not be trusted either, what then is left ? Is there a better and trustworthy faith alternative - For me its in love, honesty and humility and I now support IRIS Global ! >> |
