Testimonies for Inquiring Mormons
The Mormon Church (LDS) is facing a serious dilemma and is in damage control. Members have been conditioned to view Christianity as apostate which makes them afraid they are walking away from Jesus Christ if the leave. I have struggled a long time with my Priesthood covenants as they where equated with receiving Jesus and altogether walking away was equated with betraying Jesus and denying the Holy Ghost. But today's leaders have silenced God on an ecclesiastical level and instead rely on tradition and cosmetic makeovers. Any mystical stuff is now seen as dangerous. But Mormon style Christianity has been compromised. God does not run an exclusive masonic inspired Church and the LDS claim to sole Mormon Truth & Authority is simply unsustainable . If the LDS church is not true will my faith in Jesus Christ collapse or is there a better hope available for rebuilding my faith and trust in God ? Is there an Afterlife ? Is God real and is Jesus alive ? If Mormonism is not authentic Christianity and religious debates bring only contention where shall we look for authentic Christian living ?
The meaning of Mormon acc. to the Prophet Joseph Smith should be "more good"*, but Joseph Smith's attempts at improving Christianity have only brought division. Trust me "more good" is found outside the LDS than you would imagine.

Science
The belief in a conscious universe has merit and remains a serious possibility under scientific scrutiny. It is rational and defensible to accept the afterlife and survival of the mind ! And this makes a good starting point from which to reconsider true and authentic Christianity. Afterlife Testimonies

Authentic Christianity has amazing testimonies to offer. Heidi Baker a charismatic missionary in Mozambique testifies of miracles just like in the days of Jesus. And her heart for the poor reflects the heart of Jesus. The fame of miracles in Mozambique has lead to a scientific study on healing the deaf. Then there are all the supernatural conversion stories from atheist China (tens of millions of committed Christians - often underground). Christianity has 100 000 plus martyrs per year. Muslims convert in millions and many risk their lives. Todd White is as authentic as Christianity can get. Considering his testimony as a former suicidal drug addict (my story) it is hard to deny that God indeed has miraculously intervened in his life (Sid Roth). If you are skeptical about some of the healings (as I am) please note that Todd confesses many healing failures - See below - Todd preaches in Kauai / Hawaii.

Meaning of the word Mormon
The May 15, 1843 issue of the official Mormon periodical Times and Seasons contains an article, purportedly written by Joseph Smith, Jr., deriving the etymology of the name "Mormon" from English "more" + Egyptian mon, "good", and extolling the meaning as follows:
It has been stated that this word [mormon] was derived from the Greek word mormo. This is not the case. There was no Greek or Latin upon the plates from which I, through the grace of God, translated the Book of Mormon. Let the language of that book speak for itself. On the 523d page, of the fourth edition, it reads: And now behold we have written this record according to our knowledge in the characters which are called among us the Reformed Egyptian ... none other people knoweth our language; therefore [God] hath prepared means for the interpretation thereof." ... [The] Bible in its widest sense, means good; for the Savior says according to the gospel of John, "I am the good shepherd;" and it will not be beyond the common use of terms, to say that good is among the most important in use, and though known by various names in different languages, still its meaning is the same, and is ever in opposition to bad. We say from the Saxon, good; the Dane, god; the Goth, goda; the German, gut; the Dutch, goed; the Latin, bonus; the Greek, kalos; the Hebrew, tob; and the Egyptian, mon. Hence, with the addition of more, or the contraction, mor, we have the word MOR-MON; which means, literally, more good.[16]
Whether Smith was the actual author of this passage is uncertain. Official LDS Church historian B. H. Roberts removed the quote from his History of the Church compilation, saying he found evidence that W. W. Phelps wrote that paragraph and that it was "based on inaccurate premises and was offensively pedantic."[17] LDS Church apostle Gordon B. Hinckley noted that the "more good" translation is incorrect but added that "Mormon means 'more good'" is a positive motto for members of the LDS Church.[12]

“God created man in His image, and man has returned the favor.” (Mark Twain)
"If we don't leave the church, then we don't have to concentrate on all the bad stuff just so we can justify our choice to leave." (New Order Mormons)
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
