Resignation from LDS Church | Member Records SLC To: Confidential Records: msr-confrec@ldschurch.org Subject: Resignation of my membership in the LDS church Member Records Division, LDS Church 50 E North Temple Rm 1372 SLC UT 84150-5310 Dear Brethren,
I hereby resign my membership in the "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" (LDS), effective 9 June 2014 and request that you remove my name permanently from your membership records. I appreciate that President Uchtdorf has acknowledged that faithful members may have had reason to become disillusioned in learning the full truth about their church history. Thank you for the invite to come back and assuring me of a place within the LDS church.. Reference Come join with us ! My understanding of Mormonism is that it has rather paradoxical characteristics. It has a Christian core aspect but then went through a divergent development that relates to Masonry, Polygamy and Godhood. I do appreciate the emphasis on personal revelation and family, but that does not make the LDS church unique. Many of the unique LDS aspects I do no longer belief in, such as exaltation to Godhood by taking masonic type oaths, an exaltation that was originally conditional upon mandatory polygamy. On 9 June 72, 42 years ago was my baptism into the LDS church. I was not sure then about the LDS truth claims and was just obedient to a testimony of original biblical Christianity and I believed in spiritual guidance by accepting LDS authority and that I would ultimately know based on obedience. 42 years later certainty has remained elusive and it appears that basic Christianity is all that can be relied on and hence the honest thing for me to do is resign. Since I no longer belief in the exclusive truth claims of the LDS church and reject some of the LDS extra biblical revelations I can not return. I have found freedom in Christ as taught in the Bible to be sufficient and I trust in his grace. I belief the Holy Ghost is vibrant among contemporary Christians regardless of their denominations. As a matter of integrity and reverence for God and the Bible I have decided to have my LDS membership cancelled and I request that the covenants and ordinances I have entered will be dissolved and become void. I cordially request a letter of confirmation. With best regards xxx My testimony
I see the Kingdom of God spreading over many denominations whose members connect with Gods supernatural and miraculous power. Heidi Baker is a missionary that resembles more the image of Jesus Christ than anybody else I know. She has been dubbed the New Mother Teresa. She stands approved by God through continuous signs and wonders, just as in biblical times. The blind do see, the deaf do hear. Food is multiplied and the dead are raised. I have become an enthusiastic supporter of her work and take great delight in committing tithing funds to spreading the gospel among the poor and needy of Africa, where largely islamic Mozambique is transformed by the love of God. My Dilemma
Can a religion that claims exclusive truth, exclusive authority, and exclusive communication with God be reformed without dropping its claims ? The key question is not whether my formerly held Mormon testimony was based on historic facts or not. The real question is whether ancient Mormon history supports or refutes the claims of the LDS church in which I believed and thought I had a divine testimony. 19 Therefore, thus says the LORD, "If you return (to me), then I will restore you- Before Me you will stand; And if you extract the precious from the worthless, You will become My spokesman. They for their part may turn to you, But as for you, you must not turn to them. 20 "Then I will make you to this people A fortified wall of bronze; And though they fight against you, They will not prevail over you; For I am with you to save you And deliver you," declares the LORD.… |

"If we don't leave the church, then we don't have to concentrate on all the bad stuff just so we can justify our choice to leave." (New Order Mormons)
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
